In May 2026, MoveUkraine founder John Shmorhun received the “Thriving as Leaders” Award from the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association.
The award ceremony took place in Annapolis, USA.
The award recognizes volunteer leadership and service – work dedicated to supporting people, helping Ukraine, and advancing initiatives that create meaningful social impact.
For the MoveUkraine team, this recognition is a reflection of the importance of the collective work carried out together with partners, donors, and people who continue to stand with Ukraine.
Today, MoveUkraine is implementing projects focused on the construction and development of housing for internally displaced Ukrainians, as well as the creation and restoration of rehabilitation centers for veterans and civilians who require rehabilitation and support.
The MoveUkraine team sincerely thanks partners, donors, and graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians.
It is through international partnership and joint efforts that these important recovery and support projects in Ukraine become possible.
