On May 6, the city of Hlobyne, Poltava Oblast, hosted the grand opening of a shelter that will become a new home for 56 Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
The event was attended by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Kohut, the mayor of Hlobyne Stanislav Dzhus, his deputy Oleh Lednik, and the MoveUkraine team. The symbolic red ribbon was cut together with the co-founder of the foundation, Tuscia.
This shelter is not just a temporary shelter. It is a space created with care and attention to every detail. We did our best to make the future residents feel at home: the rooms are equipped with kitchen sets, wardrobes, chests of drawers, mirrors, tables, chairs and curtains. Every corner is filled with warmth, comfort and hope for a new beginning.
The project was implemented thanks to the generous support of the AHL Foundation and our reliable partner Waste to Wonder, who provided furniture for the shelter. Thanks to our joint efforts, we managed to turn an empty space into a real home.
The goal of MoveUkraine is not only to provide a roof over their heads, but also to create an environment where people can recover, feel safe and believe in the future again.
This is just one of many steps towards restoring a decent life for internally displaced Ukrainians.
Together we are building spaces where hope, peace and faith are restored.
